The contractor will continue with landscaping, manhole adjustments/repairs in the parkway, pavement markings, detector loops and punch list work in various locations throughout the project. The contractor is also scheduled to continue with replacing hot-mix asphalt driveway aprons on Crescent.
The contractor has completed the pavement patching in the Village Hall parking lot. The contractor still has work to complete to various utility structures in the Village Hall parking lot.

The contractor has completed (paved) the first lift (of two) of asphalt on Bonnie Glen, Glenwood, and Harrison. Next week the contractor is scheduled to continue working on utility structure adjustments. The final lift of asphalt (hot-mix asphalt surface course) is scheduled to be paved in mid-October.

All sidewalk and curb & gutter has been completed on Harrison, Glenwood, Grove and Overlook. The contractor has completed the asphalt driveway repairs on Bonnie Glen, Meadowlark and the south part of Terrace. The contractor has started asphalt surface grinding this week and will continue grinding into next week.

Concrete curb and gutter work has begun on Harrison, Grove, Overlook, Glenwood, and Dewes. Only spot repairs are being made in locations where the curb and gutter has deteriorated. Upon completion of the curb and gutter the contractor will prep for pavement resurfacing.
Curb and gutter work has not started and is not scheduled to start quite yet on the following streets: Phillips, Crescent, Franklin and Brandess.

New curb installation on Bonnie Glen was completed this week. The contractor plans to start the curb removal and replacement on the following streets next week: Glenwood, Grove, Harrison, Phillips, Brandess, Overlook, Crescent, Wildwood, Dewes, and Overlook. Each road is only getting spot repairs on the curb and gutter, meaning that only deteriorated sections will be removed and replaced.

STRIKE HAS BEEN RESOLVED, CONSTRUCTION RESUMES!
The strike was resolved this week and new contracts between the unions and contractors have been signed and are in effect. The contractor resumed work this week!
The contractor began storm and sanitary spot repairs and structure replacements on Bonnie Glen. This work will continue for the next few days, and then the contractor will move to Grove Street. Curb and gutter removal and replacement should commence next week. We have not yet received a schedule for this concrete work, but once I know it, I will update!

Strike Continues
As of this morning, the strike continues. The Unions and the Contracting Companies are still in negotiations and have not yet reached an agreement. It is our understanding that the next scheduled meeting is set for Monday, July 19.
We continue to ask for your patience and understanding during this time. We are continuing to monitor each construction site so that they remain safe to the general public.

Thank you for your ongoing patience during the Village construction project adjacent to your home. At this time, the Village has been notified that Chicagoland Construction Labor Unions are going on strike. The conflict is between the Contracting Companies and the Unions, not involving the Village.
Work has therefore been temporarily shut down on your street. We are insuring that all construction sites are safe to the general public and will continue to actively monitor each site.
If any issues arise, or if you should have any questions, please contact the Village Project Manager or the Capital Projects Department at (847) 998-9500.
